Job summary

Blackwave GmbH is seeking a design engineer in Germany to create high-precision tools, fixtures and special-purpose machinery for aerospace manufacturing. You will own concepts through to production, ensuring manufacturability and robustness while keeping costs in mind.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to ergonomic and shopfloor-ready designs, and communicate in English and German to support global coordination.

Qualifications

• Completed degree or training as a design engineer or related field.
• Several years of hands-on experience designing special-purpose machinery and tooling.
• Experience creating technical drawings and using CAD tools; SolidWorks is a plus.
• Familiar with CNC milling and turning; design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

YOUR PROFILE

Must-Haves

• Completed degree or training as a design engineer, technical product designer, state-certified technician in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Several years of hands-on experience designing special-purpose machinery, fixtures and tooling, with a strong understanding of day-to-day industrial operations
• Skilled in creating technical drawings and using modern CAD tools. Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
• Familiar with production processes such as CNC machining, including milling and turning, with a strong understanding of design for manufacturability
• Fluent in English and German, both in the workshop and when working with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• You enjoy solving problems, exploring new technologies and designing elegant, practical solutions
• Familiarity with fibre-reinforced plastics and their processing methods
