We are looking for an experienced and motivated German teacher for Years 5 to 13 with a focus on our upper secondary level (gymnasiale Oberstufe) to complete our international team next school year 2027/28, starting 09.08.2027.

German can be taught either as a standalone subject or in combination with other subjects, for example Geography, History, or Political Education/Political Science, which are also currently advertised. Depending on the subject combination, part-time or full-time employment is possible.

What you should bring:

Qualifications and Experience

• A second state examination for teaching at secondary levels I and II (Sekundarstufe I and II) or a teaching qualification recognized as equivalent in Berlin (e.g., first state examination, Master of Education, or a university degree at the master’s level in the relevant subject).
• For lateral entry applications or applicants with foreign qualifications: a minimum of 2 to 3 years of school teaching experience.
• Familiarity with the Berlin curriculum.

Language Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in German or proof of passing a language test at C2 level with a “very good” grade.
• Good English skills to ensure smooth communication within our bilingual school community.
