Position Overview
Sciens Building Solutions is looking for a Sales Development Representative to generate leads, advance the sales process, and meet opportunity-based sales quotas. The role involves researching and identifying prospects, using phone, email, webinar, and in-person outreach. The representative will contribute to marketing activities, qualify leads, and follow the sales process using a CRM or sales engagement platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts.
- Contact external lead source prospects through a combination of phone, email and social media outreach.
- Identify decision makers within targeted leads to begin sales process.
- Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
- Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Account Executives; assist in creating RFP responses to potential clients.
- Ensure follow-up by passing leads to appropriate team members with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, etc.
- Work closely with Sciens Sales & Marketing teams. Collaborate with appropriate team members to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
- Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects.
- Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as tradeshows, exhibits, and other events.
- Make outbound follow-up calls to existing clients and identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
- Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls.
- Overcome objections of prospective customers.
- Emphasize product/service features and benefits.
- Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
- Attend periodic sales training where applicable.
- Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position.
Qualifications
- University or college degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Up to three years of direct work experience in a sales or tele-sales capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects.
- Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
- Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Experience with customer relationship management software and/or sales engagement platform such as Outreach or Salesloft.
- Strong problem identification and objections resolution skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, excellent listening skills, strong written communication skills.
- Customer‑centric focused and detail‑oriented.
- Self‑motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
- Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits.
