Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor in Germany is seeking an experienced project accountant to support accounting for renewable energy projects. You will handle GAAP-compliant financial reporting, contract interpretation, and detailed budget-to-actual analyses across multi-level partnerships.

The role requires 3+ years in project accounting, CPA preferred, and advanced Excel skills. You will liaise with Asset Managers and external auditors while ensuring accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• 3+ years in a project accounting related role.
• Strong knowledge and experience with GAAP accounting.
• Strong experience and understanding of financial reporting and multilevel partnership consolidation structures.
• Experience in financial analysis, including income statement budget to actual analysis, trend analysis, and balance sheet ratios.
• Ability to read and comprehend contracts in detail, including revenue contracts, lease agreements, debt agreements, and interest rate swaps.

Aufgaben

• Support accounting for multiple wind, solar, or storage projects.
• Review accounting schedules and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Provide insight, direction, and assistance in preparing and reviewing accounting schedules.
• Read and interpret project contracts to ensure proper GAAP accounting.
• Perform monthly income statement budget-to-actual analysis and trend analysis.
• Explain unusual financial fluctuations.
• Manage project cash accounts, including bank reconciliations and cash forecasts.
• Recommend project cash distributions when applicable.
• Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for proper coding and accuracy.
• Prepare weekly accounts payable lists for cash management and payment runs.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project-level and consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare annual operating budgets with Asset Managers.
• Support financial statement audits by providing documentation and explanations to external auditors.
• Prepare required financial deliverables under applicable contracts.
• Assist with reconciling draft and final annual tax returns.
• Support systems implementations and data integrity.
• Act as the accounting connection between internal teams and stakeholders.
• Report to the Accounting Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting


• CPA preferred


• 3+ years in a project accounting related role


• Preferred experience working with multi-level partnerships


• Strong knowledge and experience with GAAP accounting


• Strong experience and understanding of financial reporting and multilevel partnership consolidation structures


• Experience in financial analysis, including income statement budget to actual analysis, trend analysis, and balance sheet ratios


• Ability to read and comprehend contracts in detail, including revenue contracts, lease agreements, debt agreements, and interest rate swaps


• Ability to work independently and take initiative
