Upway is Europe’s leading platform for used, professionally refurbished eBikes with a major Düsseldorf operation. This Operations Management Internship puts you at our UpCenter Düsseldorf, where you’ll learn how inbound, workshop and shipping move from delivery to customer parcel and collaborate with European sites.

You will gain hands-on experience in process improvement, dashboards and daily planning while supporting a fast-growing team and energy-driven sustainability mission.

Description

Upway is Europe's leading platform for used, professionally refurbished eBikes. Since our founding in 2021, we have given more than 100,000 eBikes a second life and are now active in nine countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the USA. Germany is our largest and fastest growing market. Our goal by 2030: to put one million refurbished eBikes back on the road.

Our principle is simple: we buy used eBikes from manufacturers, dealers and leasing providers, inspect and repair them in our own workshops and resell them with a warranty on battery and motor. Customers save around 45 percent on average compared to the new price while conserving resources at the same time.

Our UpCenter Düsseldorf in The Tube business park has been Upway's second German refurbishment centre since 2025. Across 8,000 square metres of workshop and warehouse space, inbound receiving, diagnostics, refurbishment, quality control and shipping all come together here. The team is growing fast, and this is exactly where you come in.

Key Responsibilities

You will work directly with the site's Operations Manager and gain insight into all the processes of a growing logistics and workshop operation. In concrete terms:

• You support the daily management of inbound receiving, workshop and shipping and learn how an eBike moves through our centre from delivery to customer parcel.
• You work with our key figures: lead times, inventory, quality and productivity. You help maintain dashboards, interpret the numbers and derive actions from them.
• You take ownership of your own improvement projects, for example on process flows, use of floor space, spare parts supply or coordination with our logistics partners.
• You act as a point of contact in the exchange with other Upway sites across Europe and support cross site topics.
• You help with planning and organisation in day to day operations, from shift planning and material orders to preparing team meetings.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• You are enrolled in a degree programme such as Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a comparable field, and your study regulations require you to complete a mandatory internship.
• You are keen to work at an operational site where workshop, warehouse and office are only a few steps apart. You like to get hands on and are not afraid of the shop floor.
• You work in a structured way, are confident with Excel or Google Sheets and enjoy understanding numbers and questioning processes.
• You work very independently, prioritise well and stay structured and reliable even at a fast pace.
• You communicate clearly and in a friendly manner, in German and English (our team language across sites is English).
• A plus, not a must: an interest in bikes, sustainability or the circular economy.
