Job summary

Airbus Operations in Hamburg is offering a master student position for a thesis titled “Materials & Processes reparability analysis for future aircraft”. Start: 01.12.2026; duration approx. 6 months. You will join the Materials & Processes R&T team to develop materials & processes for future aircraft.

The role provides a 35-hour week, an international environment, and collaboration with modern technologies. You will engage in a transnational project and network via Generation Airbus Community.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Creativity and thinking out of the box.
• Experience within Project management.
• Experience with CAD (CATIA V5) is a plus.
• Experience with FEM (MSC Nastran / Patran) is a plus.
• Practical experience regarding composite manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of materials & processes for future aircraft
• Review of existing solutions and corresponding test methods for the investigation of opportunities regarding composite manufacturing
• Potentially create computer aided designs (CATIA V5) and perform simulations (e.g. Nastran/Patran)
• Evaluation of the test/simulation results and provide conclusions
• Get inside the non-specific Research & Technology world
• Work in a transnational project team
