Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching seeks a M&P Surface Technology Engineer (d/f/m) to support technology, development and qualification projects in surface technologies and coatings. The role entails collaboration with suppliers, external institutes and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in materials science, chemistry or aerospace engineering.
• Experience in surface and coatings technologies as well as corrosion protection mandatory.
• Experience in aerospace industry and related processes such as qualification, certification and standardisation preferred.
• German and English negotiation level mandatory.
• Ability to work in a transnational team.
• Independent and proactive working style.

Responsibilities

• Support to acquisition and execution of technology, development and qualification projects in the area of surface technologies, functional coatings and corrosion protection
• Preparation of material and process specifications as well as process and test instructions
• Support to obsolescence management and change requests
• Support to environmental compliance (REACH regulation) programs
• Consultancy to design, stress, quality and manufacturing for materials and process related enquiries
• Collaboration with external institutes
• Steering and collaboration with material suppliers
• Provide expertise support for engineering, manufacturing and in-service issues on Surface technologies.
• Development and harmonization of technologies for external livery applications (paints, materials, processes), pre-treatment and cleaning technologies for surface preparation.

In order to support Airbus Defence and Space we are looking for a M&P Surface Technology Engineer (d/f/m). This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
