Description

The opportunity

We are offering a Master Student Program in the field of high-voltage transformer insulation and electric field analysis. The program focuses on the evaluation of electric stresses in continuously transposed conductors (CTC) and shielding structures, combining finite element simulations (FEM) with analytical calculation methods. This position provides hands-on experience in industrial R&D, allowing students to work on real engineering challenges while completing their Master’s studies.

How you'll make an impact
  • Perform FEM simulations for electric field and stress calculations based on defined test configurations
  • Investigate electric stress in insulation systems
  • Calculate electric stresses using analytical methods and compare results with FEM simulations
  • Improve analytical models by developing and applying correction factors based on FEM results
  • Conduct parametric studies
  • Study the influence of adjacent discs and nearby applied potentials on electric field distribution and stress maxima
  • Investigate advanced effects
  • Document results and support technical reports, presentations, and thesis work
Your background
  • Enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering. Power Engineering, High-Voltage Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field
  • Initial experience with finite element methods (FEM) or numerical simulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a structured and research-oriented environment
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
What we offer
  • Direct involvement in industry-relevant R&D projects
