Job summary

Carnival Maritime GmbH, based in Hamburg, seeks an HVAC‑R professional to oversee shipboard systems and maintenance across assigned vessels. You will coordinate projects, ensure safety, and collaborate with onboard and shore teams to optimize environmental compliance.

The role requires maritime HVAC‑R expertise, strong organizational skills, and fluency in English. The board endorses a hybrid working model and travel within Europe for project needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in HVAC, refrigeration or a maritime technical field or a comparable qualification.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC-R systems in maritime environments such as cruise ships, ferries or yachts is highly desirable.
• Experience in project coordination or project management is advantageous.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally compliant operation of all HVAC‑R systems.
• Plan and execute HVAC and refrigeration operations, maintenance, day‑to‑day activities, improvements and modifications for assigned vessels.
• Foster safety and environmental protection through collaboration with onboard and shore teams.
• Conduct regular onboard inspections, including project-related and shipyard inspections.
• Plan and actively participate in all Dry Dock activities.
• Manage HVAC items and maintenance processes (spares, consumables, procedures).
• Review, update and optimize maintenance procedures and Infoship item setup.
• Structure, organize and maintain all HVAC‑R documentation and technical information.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute all HVAC and refrigeration‑related operations, including maintenance, day‑to‑day activities, improvements and technical modifications for assigned vessels
• Foster a strong safety and environmental protection culture through close collaboration with onboard and shore‑based teams
• Conduct regular inspections onboard, including project‑related and shipyard period inspections
• Plan and actively participate in all Dry Dock activities
• Manage HVAC items and maintenance processes (spare parts, consumables, procedures and instructions)
• Review, update and optimize maintenance procedures and manage item setup within Infoship
• Structure, organize and maintain all HVAC‑R documentation and technical information

Qualifications:

• A degree in HVAC, refrigeration or a maritime technical field such as ship operation, shipbuilding, outfitting, service or engineering; alternatively, a comparable technical qualification
• Practical experience in project coordination or project management is an advantage
• Solid hands‑on experience working with HVAC‑R systems in a maritime environment, ideally on cruise ships, large ferries or yachts
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with systems such as Infoship, Amos or similar software is desirable
• Experience leading small project teams is beneficial
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and a structured, solution‑oriented working style
• Very good command of English
• 30 days of annual vacation
