Job summary

Orizon is seeking an HMI Software Integration & Verification Engineer (m/f/d) for Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The role focuses on integrating the HMI subsystem with other components across multiple test environments and devices, ensuring end-to-end operation and robust verification.

The candidate will design, execute, and maintain tests, automate test infrastructure, and contribute to requirements engineering, aiming for higher test coverage and transparent project reporting.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Computer Science or Aerospace Engineering.
• Extensive IT/aerospace experience and software integration.
• Experience with test design, execution & automation.

Responsibilities

• Integrate the HMI subsystem with other system components on various test environments and target devices.
• Ensure correct configuration and seamless end-to-end operation.
• Set up, configure, and maintain test devices and environments, including software deployment, device configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze and resolve integration issues, coordinating with the responsible subsystem and software teams.
• Define, implement, and execute tests to verify HMI functionality, system integration, and compliance with requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated tests and test infrastructure.
• Increase test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Analyze test results, investigate and document failures.
• Contribute to requirements engineering by reviewing, refining and clarifying requirements, band deriving verifable test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain test documentation, verification evidence, and integration status.
• Ensure transparent reporting of quality and project progress.

Your Prospective Job:

Your Responsibilities:

• Integrate the HMI subsystem with other system components on various test environments and target devices

Your Profile:

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or comparable
• Many years of professional experience in IT / Information Technology and Aerospace Engineering
• Experience in software integration and software/ system verification, including test design, test execution, and test automation
• Experience in military flight training devices, or military flight simulation systems is advantageous
• Strong user with Linux administration, including command-line tools, system configuration, software installation, serice management, permissions, networking, and log analysis
• Good understanding of modern software development and integration methodologies (Agile, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, testing, debugging)
• Very good user skills in Python
• Skills in automated testing frameworks (e.g. Qt Squish)and with issue tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira, XRay) is advantageous
• Fluent German and English skills spoken and written
