Your Role

As the Head of Performance Marketing at StudySmarter, you will be responsible for scaling our global user base through data‑driven paid growth strategies. You’ll lead a talented marketing team, drive ROI across paid channels, and shape how millions of students discover and engage with StudySmarter.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute a performance marketing strategy across paid social, search, display, and affiliates.
  • Manage and scale a multi‑million‑euro marketing budget with a focus on efficiency and growth.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and other teams to drive full‑funnel performance initiatives.
  • Continuously analyse marketing performance and optimise campaigns for CAC, LTV, and ROI.
  • Develop and improve the marketing tech stack and attribution with tools such as AppsFlyer, Google Tag Manager, etc.
  • Lead, mentor, and expand a high‑performing marketing team.
  • Own the marketing tech stack (AppsFlyer, Amplitude, GA4). You will ensure we have the attribution modelling required to spend millions with confidence.
  • Optimise the entire conversion flow from Ad Creative to Subscription Purchase.
  • Identify new channels and technologies to accelerate user acquisition and retention.
What you need to succeed

You have a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of digital marketing dynamics, and proven success in scaling consumer apps or digital platforms. You combine a data‑driven approach with creativity and leadership, inspiring teams to achieve ambitious growth goals.

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Performance or Growth Marketing, ideally in B2C tech or app subscription environments.
  • Proven track record in scaling paid campaigns on paid social and paid search with 7‑digit budgets per month (preferably Mobile App/Subscription).
  • Deep expertise in paid channels such as Meta, Google, TikTok, and programmatic platforms.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in tools such as AppsFlyer, Amplitude, Google Analytics Suite, and more.
  • Expertise in guiding a creative production team tailored to increasing ROAS in paid marketing.
  • Leadership experience with cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German.
