Zusammenfassung

Allied Vision Italy is seeking a Field Application Engineer to provide proactive technical consulting during pre-sales for Gilching-based customers. You will support the sales team in winning projects, collect customer needs, and coordinate with Product and R&D while managing PoCs and technical demos.

The role requires travel to customer sites, strong communication, and hands-on coding in C++, Python, and OpenCV.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Vision & Robotics, or other Engineering Disciplines.
• High level of technical understanding and customer-facing skills.
• Experience with machine vision cameras, frame grabbers, or related components is a plus.
• Proficient coding in C++, C#, Python, or MATLAB; OpenCV familiarity is a plus.
• Strong work ethic, communication, and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel to visit customers as needed.

Your tasks

• Proactive technical consulting for customers, sales partners, and distributors during the pre-sales process regarding hardware and software solutions
• Supporting the sales team in the acquisition and closing of projects
• Systematic collection of customer needs, feature requests, and market trends
• Assessment of economic potential in coordination with sales, followed by structured forwarding to Product and Project Management and R&D
• Documentation in the CRM system
• Technical project management for strategic OEM customers
• Assuming technical responsibility for the entire project lifecycle, from requirements analysis to release, while adhering to time and quality targets
• Systematic analysis of complex customer requirements and execution of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) tests
• Creation of technical test setups, evaluation of results, derivation of concrete solution proposals, and technical support for quotation calculations
• Authoring of Application Notes and Whitepapers
• Conception and delivery of technical training sessions and presentations for employees, customers, and partners
• Technical consulting at trade shows, including setup and teardown of demos, and conducting customer visits (internationally)
• Building demos
• Technical contact person for Key Accounts and large OEM customers
• Building and maintaining long-term, trusting technical partnerships
• Ability to collaborate with others when expertise from different areas is needed
• Supporting the AE / Support Teams

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Vision & Robotics, or other Engineering Disciplines
• High level of technical understanding
• Experience in machine vision cameras, frame grabbers or components is a plus
• Working knowledge of writing code in C++, C#, Python, or MATLAB for projects, Open CV is a plus
• Strong work ethic and communication skills
• Strong presentation ability
• Ability to travel to visit customers as needed in the territory
