A global civic education organization in Berlin is seeking an experienced educator to deliver and develop innovative programs that enhance democratic resilience. The ideal candidate will engage in workshop facilitation and program coordination, addressing online hate and disinformation. Required qualifications include fluency in German and English, a relevant degree, and experience in civic education. This role is available as full-time or part-time based on funding availability and offers a competitive salary.

Up to €60 072.01 annual salary (100%). The actual salary will be adjusted proportionally based on working hours.
You may work from our German office in Berlin or in a hybrid arrangement to suit you. The successful candidate is required to have the right to work in Germany. We cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.
Initial 12‑month fixed term. This position is subject to funding and may be offered full‑time (100% 40 hours/week) or part‑time (from 80% 32 hours/week) depending on funding availability.

Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced educator with strong conceptual thinking facilitation skills to join our team. The successful candidate will help us deliver and develop innovative civic education and capacity‑building programmes that strengthen democratic resilience and counter online hate and disinformation. The role combines training delivery with content development and project coordination. The post holder will play a key role in implementing and further evolving ISD’s flagship education initiatives including the Business Council for Democracy (BC4D).
We are looking for a motivated team member who is a native or near‑native German speaker with excellent English skills and who can both lead workshops and training sessions and contribute to the conceptual and operational development of our civic education programmes. Subject‑matter expertise in hate speech, disinformation, conspiracy ideologies or digital extremism is mandatory. The ideal candidate will bring additional experience in civic education or digital literacy alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project workflows. Experience in designing and implementing needs assessments, conducting and analysing interviews and surveys as well as translating findings into curricula and developing appropriate teaching and learning materials is highly valued.
We are seeking an experienced educator and project coordinator with a strong background in civic education, political science, communication or related social sciences. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement and reporting alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills in German (native or near‑native level) and English. They should demonstrate strong facilitation skills for delivering trainings and workshops both online and in person and possess a solid understanding of digital threats such as disinformation, hate speech and conspiracy narratives. A proactive problem‑solving mindset, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment are essential.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant academic background such as a Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent professional experience ideally complemented by expertise in adult education or curriculum development. They should bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across teams while managing multiple priorities. Additional desirable qualities include familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, advanced digital media literacy and proficiency in additional languages. Integrity, discretion and a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes are essential alongside a collaborative mindset and the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment.
