As (Senior) DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer (f / m / d) you take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, CI / CD pipelines, and site reliability engineering practices. This role combines technical expertise with mentorship responsibilities, as you'll guide a Team of Full Stack, Mobile Developers and DevOps Engineers while managing complex web and mobile infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud platforms.
What you can do for us
- You will be the bridge between multiple internal sectors - business, platform, research, infrastructure, IT, mobile, QA, and web. Implementing best practices across a mature Azure, iOS, Android and web tech stack.
- Your fusion of skills in software development and IT operations will help us maintain our CI / CD infrastructure with an emphasis on delivery, support, automation, and continuous integration.
- You are responsible for administration and optimization of our Azure cloud services including Virtual Machines, WebApps, Function Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Storage and Key Vault.
- You will manage VPNs, network segmentation, DNS, and firewall configurations across our internal development and production environments.
- You will provide Tier 3 support during standard office hours with 24‑hour incident response capability for critical web and mobile application issues. You collaborate with our development teams to improve system reliability and resilience.
- You will manage Google Cloud Platform resources including GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), BigQuery, Storage Buckets, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform or similar tools.
- You will provide oversight and administration of Mac Build Cluster for iOS + Android builds and ensure smooth integration of mobile pipeline resources.
- You will regularly work with cross‑functional teams to ensure the continuous functionality of our software life‑cycle management.
- You will mentor our Mobile DevOps Engineer on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
What you should bring to the table
- You have experience managing and developing in Azure (at least 4 years), with strong skills in this area in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE roles.
- You are familiar with CI / CD best practices, branching strategies and build optimization.
- You have very good knowledge of setting up, configuring and scaling self‑hosted Azure agents, as well as integrating third‑party tools and services into Azure Pipelines.
- You are familiar with managing company‑specific SaaS software (Jira, Figma, Confluence) and have experience in Azure OpenAI. Knowledge of other LLM techniques (Microsoft Copilot or Gemini) would be great but is not required.
- You will support GDPR and ISCF compliance audits (bi‑annual) and maintain audit documentation.
- You will establish and maintain security baselines, hardening standards, and secure configuration guidelines.
- You have the ability to explain complex technical concepts in English and German to non‑technical stakeholders.
- You have experience in mentoring junior engineers or team members.
- You have strong interpersonal communication skills, enjoy working with others and can easily communicate with your colleagues and stakeholders in English and German (at least C1).
- Azure certifications and experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor) are nice to have.
