Green Recruitment Company represents a fast-growing energy infrastructure business entering Germany to build a market from the ground up.
You will lead from origination to operations, owning opportunities across BESS and charging infrastructure while shaping strategy with leadership. The role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, fluent German and professional English, and the ability to build a local team and partnerships.
Our client is a fast-growing energy infrastructure business developing and delivering battery energy storage (BESS) and charging infrastructure for the rapidly evolving energy markets. The business is now preparing for its entry into Germany and is looking for an exceptional Country Manager to build the market from the ground up.
This is not a traditional country-management role. It is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to create a business in Germany from scratch- identifying opportunities, winning customers, developing projects, building partnerships and ultimately creating the local team and platform.
You will have significant autonomy and ownership for the German market.
From day one, you will be responsible for establishing the company's presence in Germany, developing the pipeline and building the relationships required to turn opportunities into investable, operational infrastructure.
You will operate across commercial, development, partnerships, project delivery and strategy, working closely with the wider leadership team while acting as the key decision-maker on the ground in Germany.
Build the German market from the ground up, developing the strategy, pipeline, partnerships and commercial platform.
Own opportunities end-to-end, from origination and site development through to RTB, financing, construction and operations.
Identify and secure new sites and commercial opportunities across BESS, and charging infrastructure.
Structure and negotiate commercial arrangements, including offtake, PPA and other energy-market agreements, working with central teams where appropriate.
Build strong relationships with DSOs, TSOs, regulators, municipalities and other public stakeholders.
Establish and manage a network of local partners across grid, permitting, legal, EPC, development and technical disciplines.
Shape the company's proposition for Germany, bringing local market intelligence and customer feedback into product and commercial strategy.
Work closely with finance and investment teams to ensure projects are commercially robust, financeable and capable of reaching investment decision.
Build the German team over time, hiring exceptional people and creating the culture, processes and infrastructure required to scale.
Become the face of the business in Germany, representing the company with customers, partners, investors and the wider market.
You may already have built a business, launched a new market, developed an energy infrastructure platform or taken a portfolio of complex capital projects from concept through execution.
Most importantly, you will be comfortable operating with ambiguity, autonomy and accountability.
You will bring:
8+ years' relevant experience across energy infrastructure, renewables, BESS, EV charging, transport electrification or another complex capital-project environment.
A demonstrable entrepreneurial and ownership mindset — someone who enjoys creating rather than inheriting.
Strong commercial instincts and experience winning customers, developing partnerships and structuring deals.
The ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and get projects moving despite regulatory, grid and permitting challenges.
An established network in Germany, or the credibility and ability to build one quickly.
Experience working across multiple disciplines — commercial, development, finance, technical and regulatory.
Strong financial and business-case understanding, with the ability to assess whether an opportunity is genuinely worth pursuing.
Fluent German and professional English.
Experience with BESS
Existing relationships with German DSOs, authorities, landowners, logistics operators or infrastructure partners would be a significant plus.
Experience establishing a German entity, local team or new-market operation would also be valuable.
You will have the opportunity to build and own a significant German energy infrastructure business at an exciting point in the market's development.
If you are a commercially minded energy entrepreneur who wants genuine ownership of a new market, this could be an unusually broad and high-impact opportunity.
