Vincere is seeking an owner-side Project Manager for a utility-scale battery energy storage system project in Germany, taking it from financial close through construction, commissioning and energisation to COD and handover to operations.

You will lead a multidisciplinary owner's team, manage schedule, budget and HSSE, coordinate with the EPC contractor and authorities, and set the standards future projects will follow.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in project management on energy infrastructure.
• Experience delivering large capex projects (EUR 300M+) from contracting to commissioning.
• Background in BESS, HV substations or grid-connected projects.
• Owner-side EPC and/or FIDIC contract management experience.
• Working knowledge of German construction, permitting and HSE regulation.
• Native-level German and a good command of English.
• A structured, schedule-driven approach: you spot problems before they arrive and flag them early.
• Experience on projects of EUR 700M+.
• Early-career experience on the EPC side.
• Direct experience working with a German TSO or DNO.
• A degree in electrical engineering (ideal), civil engineering, energy technology or similar.

Aufgaben

• Act as the owner's day-to-day counterpart to the EPC contractor, holding them to programme, quality, HSSE and contract.
• Own the integrated schedule, budget and critical path, and develop recovery options early when anything starts to drift.
• Build project controls, reporting and change management from scratch, setting the standards future projects will follow.
• Manage the grid interface with the transmission system operator alongside the Grid Connection Manager.
• Represent the project locally with the municipality, authorities, landowners, neighbours and emergency services.
• Set the safety culture on site from day one.
• Lead a multidisciplinary owner's team covering contracts, construction and HSSE, commissioning, grid and engineering as it is built around the project.

Overview

This business is a green energy company headquartered in Amsterdam that develops, builds and owns its projects. One team takes projects through development to final investment decision, and a sister company under the same shareholders takes them through construction and runs them for 20 years. Same owners, same office, and short lines between the people making decisions.

Their first major project in Germany is now moving into construction: a utility-scale battery energy storage system with capex in the hundreds of millions of euros, connected at high voltage and delivered by a single EPC contractor.

This is a new role and the first hire for the project. They are looking for an owner-side Project Manager to take it from financial close through to commercial operation, and to build the way the business delivers projects along the way.

What you'll do

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years in project management on energy infrastructure, with at least three large capex projects delivered from contracting through to commissioning
• Owner-side delivery on projects of EUR 300 million or more
• A background in BESS, high-voltage substations or grid-connected utility-scale projects; large-scale PV also considered
• Owner-side EPC and/or FIDIC contract management, including variations, claims and taking-over
• Working knowledge of German construction, permitting and HSE regulation
• Native-level German and a good command of English
• A structured, schedule-driven approach: you spot problems before they arrive and flag them early
• Experience on projects of EUR 700 million or more
• Early-career experience on the EPC side
• Direct experience working with a German TSO or DNO
• A degree in electrical engineering (ideal), civil engineering, energy technology or similar
