Job summary

Exyte in Germany is seeking a Construction Area Manager Mechanical (m/f/d) to take responsibility for the mechanical scope within a defined construction or building area of our complex high-tech projects in the semiconductor and data center industries. You will ensure that construction activities within your area are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Qualifications

• Master Craftsman or Technician or degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of site supervision or construction management experience on mechanical disciplines in large-scale projects.
• Experience in industrial or plant construction, ideally semiconductor or data center.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, utilities, or building services, with leadership of teams and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in German and English (minimum B2) and willingness to travel across the D-A-CH region.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution of mechanical works within defined construction area, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate construction activities across HVAC, piping, utilities, and building services.
• Lead project team and subcontractors; serve as main interface with clients and engineering teams.
• Plan schedules, monitor costs and quality; identify risks and deviations early.
• Ensure EHS and quality standards, conduct site inspections, and manage defects.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the execution of mechanical works within a defined construction, building, or project area

• Management and coordination of construction activities, particularly in HVAC, piping, utilities, and building services

• Leadership and coordination of the project team and subcontractors as well as acting as a key interface with clients, engineering teams, and other disciplines

• Planning and monitoring of schedules, costs, quality, and construction progress, including early identification of risks and deviations

• Ensuring compliance with EHS and quality standards, including site inspections, acceptance activities, and defect management

Show your expertise

• Technical qualification as a Master Craftsman or Technician or a degree in Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification

• Several years of professional experience in site supervision or construction management of mechanical disciplines within complex large-scale projects

• Experience in industrial or plant construction, ideally within the semiconductor or data center industry

• Strong technical knowledge in areas such as HVAC, piping, utilities, process utilities, or building services, combined with experience in leading teams and subcontractors

• Very good German and English skills, at least B2 level, as well as willingness to travel and work on project sites within the D-A-CH region
