AXA Health Support is seeking 4 experienced bank nurses to provide empathetic health guidance to members. The role offers flexible, zero-hour contracts with on-call shifts, a competitive hourly rate and holiday pay adjustment.

You will support members 24/7 from home and in Tunbridge Wells, becoming part of a professional, supportive team. Applicants must be Registered Adult Nurses with current NMC registration, a nursing degree or diploma, and acute clinical experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide empathetic guidance and support on a broad range of health-related issues to our members and their families.
• Maintain our helplines supporting our members and their families covering a variety of shifts including evenings, nights and weekends.
• Support members through a variety of media including telephone (both inbound and outbound calls) and email queries.
• Act as a clinical expert and role model, to provide specialist knowledge and assistance. Build and maintain sound relationships.
• Take an active interest in your team, department and the wider business targets and how you can personally contribute to achieve these.
• Take ownership and continuously develop your professional skills, including enhancement of your clinical knowledge.

• Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC), and compliant with requirements for annual renewal and triennial revalidation.
• Nursing diploma or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in nursing, an additional qualification in midwifery would be advantageous.
• Substantive post-registration experience in acute clinical nursing.
• High levels of judgement, decision making and ownership.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage difficult conversations.
• Sound relationship management capabilities.
• Comfortable navigating various IT applications.

Work arrangements

After your initial training period, you'll work a mixture of shifts from your home and our Tunbridge Wells office. When working from home, you'll need a quiet, private, and confidential space to carry out your duties effectively. Working hours & shift pattern: The team work 24/7 to support our members. The shifts that you'll be asked to cover will involve a blend of day shifts, night shifts and weekends. This will be covered with you when you receive the "on-call" request.

Induction & training

To help you settle into the team and prepare for success in your new role, you'll attend a comprehensive induction at our Tunbridge office. During this period, you'll be required to come into the office each day.
