SEATING ENGINEER – COMPLETE SEATS

Working for a first-class supplier of interior, exterior, seating, sealing & AVS, auto electronics, located in Munich.

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Seating Engineer to join our Client’s dynamic team. This role involves leading and contributing to project development, maintaining effective communication with customers, and ensuring the technical excellence of their seating products. The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical planning, review, and training within the department.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the team engineering manager in leading the team to successfully complete assigned projects or new product development, providing necessary technical guidance to team members.
• Cultivate and maintain strong communication with customers, fostering trust and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Review the technical plans formulated by the team, ensuring their professionalism and feasibility.
• Interpret customer/project information, including technical requirements, legal provisions in target markets, etc. Decompose TDM of the product and ensure technical solutions meet requirements.
• Review the team's project deliverables (3D, 2D, EBOM, TR, DVP, DFMEA, PD2, etc.) to guarantee the quality of the deliverables.
• Conduct training for relevant engineers in the department or company within their area of expertise.
• Guide engineers in using A3 tools to analyse product design problems and provide optimal countermeasures.
• Undertake additional tasks as required by the company's business development needs, as arranged by management.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical/automotive-related majors.
• More than 6 years of experience in R&D of seats.
• Fluent in German and English languages, both written/spoken
• Experience of working with OEM BMW

Necessary Skills and Competencies:

• Familiarity with product technical specifications and requirements of mainstream OEMs in the market.
• Proficiency in the design specifications of the entire chair, including skeleton, foam, plastic parts, electrical appliances, etc. Ability to conduct professional reviews and guidance on product design.
• Familiarity with tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, PFMEA, control plan, 8D report, A3 report. Ability to guide the team in mastering these tools.
• Strong reporting and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Catia, and other relevant tools.
• In-depth knowledge of CAD data and 2D drawings, with the ability to review and guide effectively.
• Strong communication skills, facilitating smooth and efficient communication with superiors, subordinates, and leaders from other departments.
• Quick analysis and problem-solving skills during on-site situations.
• Proficient in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Capable of hosting English meetings alone and communicating effectively with customers.
