Caseware is seeking a Staff Software Developer in a fully remote role based in Colombia. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and influence across teams to scale solutions beyond a single codebase.

You will own features end-to-end, drive architectural standards, and partner with QA, Product, and Security to ensure robust observability, reliability, and quality of the systems you own. Strong Java, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes experience are required.

Qualifications

• In-depth, extensive experience with server-side Java, regarded as a subject matter expert on Java.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience with core Java.
• Experience with monolith applications and microservices.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction.
• Proven experience designing and evolving shared platforms or infrastructure.
• Experience working in an agile team with developers, testers, and a product owner.
• Experience contributing to architectural decisions and driving standards.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a core contributor on the platform, impacting value delivered to customers and partners.
• Own key features and architectural improvements end-to-end from design to build.
• Collaborate with a team of deep technical experience and share ideas.
• Lead complex challenges such as third-party extensibility and real-time multi-user synchronization.
• Define and evolve technical architecture and standards for safe, scalable, reusable capabilities.
• Act as a technical leader across teams through design reviews and RFCs.
• Lead proof-of-concepts informing roadmap and architectural decisions.
• Partner with QA, Product, Security, and Domain SMEs to ensure observability, reliability, and quality.
• Establish and promote engineering standards to improve security and maintainability.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying risks and eliminating root causes.
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies with DevOps and Security.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers through code reviews and discussions.
• Participate in production support as a senior escalation point.
