Job summary

Cadre AI is seeking an AI Engineer who will serve as the technical backbone of its delivery engine, owning complex backend AI modules and production-grade systems. You will co-develop requirements with AI strategists, ensuring precise, scalable implementations across client environments.

You will architect and optimize RAG and retrieval infrastructure, manage context and latency, and contribute to internal tooling to accelerate future deliveries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend engineering experience with at least 1 year shipping production AI agents.
• Deep hands-on experience with vector databases and advanced RAG optimization.
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js with strong backend architecture knowledge.
• Infrastructure fluency using IaC tools (Terraform or Pulumi) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Certified Claude Architect or plan to earn within 60 days.
• AI-native working style; ownership orientation and focus on end-to-end delivery.
• Ability to abstract patterns into reusable internal tools across multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Design and build complex backend AI modules, including agentic workflows and multi-step reasoning."
• Translate blueprints into production-ready code with error handling and observability.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI components from scaffold to deployment.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate output without sacrificing quality.
• Architect and optimize RAG pipelines over unstructured data sources.
• Implement vector database solutions tailored to each engagement.
• Diagnose and fix retrieval failures in production across chunks, embeddings, and indexing.
• Build and maintain agentic systems with memory architecture and failure recovery.
