Job summary

Talento is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our finance and logistics team, focusing on drayage, intermodal, or transportation billing. You will review documents, ensure accuracy, and process invoices for timely payment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of billing, AR, or accounting support experience in drayage or intermodal transport.
• Basic understanding of drayage operations and port accessorial charges.
• Familiarity with TMS and logistics documentation.
• Basic knowledge of billing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify transportation documents including Rate Confirmations, Delivery Orders, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Gate Tickets, and Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
• Ensure all billable services and accessorial charges are accurately captured and invoiced.
• Apply drayage-related charges such as Detention, Demurrage, Chassis Usage / Chassis Split, Pre-Pulls, Yard Storage, Yard Moves, Port-Related Fees.
• Coordinate with Dispatch, Operations, Customer Service, and Port Teams to ensure shipments are completed and ready for billing.
• Create, process, and maintain accurate customer invoices.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.
• Respond to customer and carrier inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable functions, including payment posting and account balance updates.
• Maintain accurate records within Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and accounting platforms.
• Generate billing reports, aging reports, and outstanding invoice summaries.
• Ensure compliance with company billing procedures and documentation standards.
• Perform additional administrative and finance-related tasks as needed.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Specialist to join our growing finance and logistics team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in billing, accounting support, or logistics administration within the drayage, intermodal, or transportation industry.

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, reviewing shipping and billing documentation, applying accessorial charges, and supporting accounts receivable activities. • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics documentation.
• Basic knowledge of billing and accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple invoices in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the transportation and logistics industry.

Preferred Qualifications
