Job summary

Space Inch is seeking an AI Modernization Manager to join a long-time client in the payments and commerce space. You will own discovery, planning, and coordination for modernization, turning undocumented legacy systems into a prioritized roadmap.

The role blends AI-driven investigation with technical storytelling, ensures operational readiness, and coordinates across engineering, QA, Operations, and external partners. Remote-first with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management or hybrid technical/delivery roles.
• Experience with architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud/on‑prem infra.
• Able to read unfamiliar, poorly documented systems and extract context.
• Translate business needs into engineering deliverables and runbooks.
• Understand software delivery, release management, and handover processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across engineers and stakeholders.
• Hands-on AI for investigation, analysis, and workflow improvement.
• Able to read .NET code and evaluate designs without writing production code.

Responsibilities

• Technical and business discovery: document legacy apps, scripts, and processes.
• Modernization planning: create a prioritized roadmap aligned with priorities.
• Delivery coordination: work across engineering, QA, Operations, stakeholders, MSP, partners.
• Operational readiness and risk: ensure requirements, docs, monitoring, owners.
• Continuous improvement: build reusable AI workflows for discovery and docs.
