Job summary

AECOM in Santiago, Chile, is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to lead concept to feasibility studies for open pit and underground mines across LATAM. You will collaborate with senior engineers to deliver PEA, Prefeasibility, and Feasibility studies, mentor junior staff, and manage client relationships while upholding AECOM's quality standards.

The role requires 10+ years in mine planning and design, fluency in English and Spanish, and hands-on experience with Mine Plan, Datamine, Vulcan,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geology; 6+ years mining experience.
• English and Spanish fluency.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient with mining software (Mine Plan, Datamine, Vulcan, Deswik, Ventsim, CAD).
• 10+ years of mining design and study delivery experience.
• Experience in open pit and/or underground mining design.
• Experience signing off on NI-43101/S-K/JORC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review open pit and underground mine designs.
• Prepare life-of-mine plans and production schedules.
• Optimize mine plans through trade-off analyses and scenario evaluation.
• Lead or support mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS).
• Mentor junior engineers and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and ensure design quality and standards.
