Job summary

AECOM in Santiago de Chile seeks an experienced Mining Geotechnical Lead to oversee geotechnical field investigations, data analysis, and integration with civil design for mining projects.

The role requires a Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering background, 10+ years of experience, and fluency in English and Spanish. Master’s degree preferred; strong software skills and Microsoft Office are a plus for design and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering required.
• 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• English and Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical field investigations and data review.
• Develop material properties for soil and rock; assess tailings, stockpiles, and foundations.
• Prepare technical proposals and reports; support civil design integration with other disciplines.
• Coordinate geotechnical mining evaluations with other design teams.
• Provide field and office support; adapt designs to site conditions.
• Identify opportunities for additional work with clients and projects.
• Collaborate with regional offices and disciplines; build client relationships.
