Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Workplace & VIP Support Technician to establish and manage on-site IT operations for our new office in Geneva. This role provides day-to-day technical support for on-site staff, regional remote workers, and other regional offices as needed. Support spans hardware and software setup, scheduled refreshes, device deployment, and meeting room/collaboration technology.
Additionally, this position serves as the dedicated IT point of contact for Geneva-based senior executives, executive assistants, and visiting global leadership, providing white-glove, desk-side support and in-room event coverage.
Tasks
Key ResponsibilitiesWorkplace & Site Support
- Day-to-Day Operations: Provide hands-on end-user support for the Geneva office and regional remote personnel.
- Office Onboarding & Maintenance: Bring the new office facility into full IT service and maintain readiness across device staging, meeting rooms, printing, Wi-Fi, and site infrastructure.
- Hardware & Software Lifecycle: Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, VoIP systems, mobile devices (iOS/Android), and point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
- Tech Bar & Onsite Services: Run an on-site Tech Bar for face-to-face employee support.
- AV & Collaboration: Manage and troubleshoot meeting room collaboration setups, including Microsoft Teams Rooms and AV hardware.
- Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stockroom inventory, asset records, and hardware availability levels in compliance with corporate policies.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Execute employee onboarding and offboarding workflows, partnering with HR for first-day technical setups.
Executive & VIP Support
- Dedicated Contact: Act as the primary on-site IT contact for designated corporate leaders and executive assistants, offering 15‑minute response SLA during business hours and priority desk‑side resolution.
- Executive Profile Management: Maintain technical profiles for assigned executives, covering workstations, mobile devices, home office configurations, and travel schedules.
- Pre/Post‑Travel & Event Support: Perform pre‑and post‑travel device checks, stage home office setups, and conduct daily pre‑meeting checks of executive conference rooms.
- Event Execution: Prepare, test, and provide live, in‑room technical support for leadership meetings, town halls, and board‑level presentations.
- VIP Security Standards: Maintain strict security baselines for leadership devices, including phishing‑resistant MFA, full‑disk encryption, device compliance, and proper executive assistant delegation.
Global & Regional Team Collaboration
- Tier 2/3 Onsite Escalation: Serve as the Swiss on‑site escalation point for issues handed off by the 24/7 Global Service Desk.
- Knowledge Sharing & ITSM: Log, track, and resolve incidents in Freshservice. Document resolutions into knowledge base articles to enable higher remote resolution rates.
- Standards & Compliance: Adhere to global endpoint, security, and imaging standards. Report local compliance gaps to leadership.
- Cross‑Functional Projects: Participate in global IT initiatives, including OS rollouts, hardware refresh programs, and facility expansions.
Qualifications & SkillsExperience & Education
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in workplace/IT desktop support, with at least 1 year of direct experience supporting C-suite executives or senior leaders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience.
- Languages: Fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of German or Italian is a strong asset.
Technical Proficiency
- Operating Systems & Endpoint Management: Advanced expertise in Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Microsoft Defender.
- Productivity & SaaS: In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (including Outlook delegation and Teams).
- Meeting Room AV: Experience setting up and troubleshooting Microsoft Teams Rooms and AV hardware (Logitech, Crestron, Neat, Poly, or HP).
- ITSM & Remote Tools: Practical experience using enterprise ITSM systems (Freshservice, ServiceNow, or similar) and remote control tools (BeyondTrust/Bomgar).
- Networking & Infrastructure Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi architectures, and basic networking components.
