Job summary

UNICEF is seeking a Connectivity Credits Backend Software Engineering Consultant to help scale a production-grade platform from MVP to multi-country deployment. You will design and implement backend services, event-driven workflows, and integrations, collaborating with product and tech teams to ensure scalable, secure delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Experience building backend services and APIs with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed or service-oriented architectures.
• CI/CD, automated testing and deployment of backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and deploy backend components for Connectivity Credits platform.
• Develop event-driven workflows, integrations and deployment infrastructure.
• Work with product/tech teams following architectural direction and best practices.
