Job summary

Frontify is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Backend Platform Team. You will design and maintain reusable backend libraries, SDKs, APIs, and services that empower Frontify product teams to scale safely and efficiently.

You will improve platform reliability and developer experience, strengthen CI/CD and testing practices, and collaborate with infrastructure teams. The role supports remote work anywhere in Switzerland with optional time in the St. Gallen office.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend web applications using PHP, Java, Python, Go or similar; willingness to use PHP as primary language.
• Hands-on experience building reusable libraries, SDKs, APIs, frameworks, or internal developer tools.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, API design, automated testing, and backward compatibility (GraphQL/REST).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, build automation, dependency management, and release processes.
• Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
• Ability to think beyond features and build scalable engineering solutions.
• Comfort working autonomously and taking ownership of complex technical challenges.
• Collaborative mindset with mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities
