Zusammenfassung

Frontify is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Media Delivery) to own the media delivery path, from transformation to delivery at scale. You will work on a core engine handling images and videos with FFmpeg, plus Node.js services and occasional C++ work, operating on Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS infrastructure.

You’ll optimize performance and cost, maintain caching/CDN layers, and contribute to runbooks and design docs.

Qualifikationen

• Experience designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, scalable backend and background processing services.
• Production experience on Kubernetes with monitoring and debugging live systems.
• Strong AWS architecture experience, focusing on performance optimization and cost management for S3, CloudFront, Lambda, and ALB at scale.
• Comfort with Docker and Linux; reading, compiling and debugging native C++ code when needed.
• Experience with media pipelines – FFmpeg, codecs, image or video processing; HDR and video expertise a plus.
• English fluency and ability to read and write technical documentation.

Aufgaben

• Build and enhance the media transformation engine (resizing, format conversion, video processing) using FFmpeg and native libraries, mainly via Node.js services and some C++ core work.
• Design and operate services on Kubernetes (EKS) with Helm charts, deployments, and alerts.
• Develop async bulk-processing capabilities with job queues and autoscaling to handle spikes fairly for customers.
• Maintain the delivery path performance and cost via caching/CDN (Varnish, HAProxy, CloudFront).
• Participate in code reviews and document designs, decisions, and runbooks.
