Job summary

UNICEF seeks a backend software engineer consultant to support the Connectivity Credits platform transition from MVP to production. You will design and implement backend services, event-driven workflows, and integrations, while contributing to deployment and security practices.

You will work with product and tech teams to ensure scalable, high-quality software across multiple countries and funding models, with a strong focus on maintainability and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience with strong backend focus.
• Experience with distributed or service-oriented applications and automated testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of security best practices, authentication & authorization, and secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy backend components for the Connectivity Credits platform.
• Build event-driven workflows, rules, and integrations.
• Contribute to deployment infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide technical documentation and collaborate with product/tech teams.
