Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. seeks a highly skilled R&D Engineer to support its Global Product Support Team for the Grid Components portfolio.

You will develop innovative product solutions, ensure compliance with design standards, and maintain supplier and part quality across a global matrix organization. You will lead and contribute to R&D and GPS projects, manage technical documentation in Windchill and SAP, and participate in change management throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and experience in a matrix organization.
• Experience with CAD (Creo, AutoCAD), PLM (Windchill), and/or SAP.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for factory audits.
• Fluency in English; basic German preferred or willingness to learn.
• Openness to new challenges and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Elaborate innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes.
• Lead and/or contribute to R&D and GPS projects, including process implementation and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global R&D and GPS teams, as well as Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Operations in a global matrix organization.
• Support the investigation and resolution of technical and quality-related issues.
• Perform internal factory audits worldwide.
• Ensure the quality of suppliers, production locations, and components.
• Create, maintain, and release technical documentation, including schematic designs, calculations, drawings, parts lists, configurators, and work instructions.
• Maintain product master data in PLM (Windchill) and ERP (SAP) systems.
• Support change management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
