Job summary

Hitachi, Ltd. seeks a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our Global Product Support Team for the Grid Components portfolio, helping to develop innovative product solutions that meet industry standards and internal processes.

You will collaborate with R&D centers, Product Management, Quality, and Supply Chain in a global matrix organization. You will maintain supplier and parts quality, create technical documentation, and support changes across the product lifecycle, including factory audits

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working in a matrix organization with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; basic German or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Elaborate innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes.
• Lead and/or contribute to R&D and GPS projects, including process implementation and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global R&D and GPS teams, and Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Operations in a global matrix organization.
• Support the investigation and resolution of technical and quality-related issues.
• Perform internal factory audits worldwide.
• Ensure the quality of suppliers, production locations, and components.
• Create, maintain, and release technical documentation, including schematic designs, calculations, drawings, parts lists, configurators, and work instructions.
• Maintain product master data in PLM (Windchill) and ERP (SAP) systems.
• Support change management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
