Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Wettingen, Switzerland is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to join the Global Product Support Team for Grid Components.

You will develop innovative product solutions, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain supplier and part quality across a global organization. This role partners with R&D, Product Management, Quality, and Supply Chain to drive robust, well-documented designs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD (Creo, AutoCAD) and PLM (Windchill) and/or SAP.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English; basic German skills preferred or willingness to learn German.

Responsibilities

• Elaborate innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines, and internal processes.
• Lead and/or contribute to R&D and GPS projects.
• Collaborate with global R&D and GPS teams and with Product Management, Supply Chain and Operations.
• Support on technical quality issue resolution.
• Create, maintain and release technical documentation (schematics, drawings, BOMs, configurators).
• Maintain product master data in Windchill and SAP systems.
