Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in operations consulting specialise in providing consulting services on optimising operational efficiency and effectiveness. These individuals analyse client needs, develop operational strategies, and offer guidance and support to help clients streamline processes, improve productivity, and drive business performance.

In operations and solutions at PwC, you will focus on providing consulting services to optimise overall operational performance and develop innovative solutions. You will work closely with clients to analyse operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. Working in this area, you will provide guidance on implementing technology solutions, process automation, and operational excellence frameworks.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As an Operations & Procurement, Senior Associate, you'll work as a key member of a project team to solve complex business issues from strategy through to execution for our clients across North America. These client projects will range from assessments and pilots to comprehensive end-to-end digital transformations, on teams with various sizes and compositions. You’ll work alongside Junior, Senior or Executive client teams, as well as offshore and onshore PwC team members and third-party vendors, to conduct detailed analyses, draw insights, strategize, develop and communicate recommendations, and implement these recommendations to create lasting value.

PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Engagement Delivery

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience in various aspects of business transformations to drive cost reductions, improve processes/ performance, or implement technology solutions as required

  • Support the delivery of engagements by conducting detailed analyses, preparing client and executive presentations, preparing procurement documents

  • Leading mixed consulting/client teams of 2-3, from initial assessment, through to implementation and continuous improvement

  • Support management of engagement risk and project economics, including planning and budgeting

  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel (up to 70 % of their time) as needed to support client delivery and ensure successful project implementation.

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with decision makers at key clients

  • Contribute to pursuits and proposal development, including supporting the development of innovative approaches and methodologies

  • Collaborate with PwC colleagues across other operating units and lines of services globally to “win as one” and develop unique solutions to service our clients’ needs .

Practice Development

  • Support the development of thought leadership in collaboration with like-minded professionals

  • Conduct market research and strategy development on new and emerging technologies and practices

  • Develop and deliver training and share knowledge from across the global network with our team

  • Contribute to planning and execution of regular Operations and Procurement practice-wide meetings and status calls, and other team events

  • Actively participate in staff recruitment and development activities.

Personal Development

  • Revenue structured coaching and advisory by a senior member of the practice

  • Continuous upskilling through our acclaimed training and learning and development solutions (soft-skills, technical and practice-specific)

Ex periences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a leading management consulting firm or similar role within industry

  • Working knowledge of, and practical experience in some of the following areas:

  • Business transformation with emerging technology as an enabler

  • Ability to with Operations teams translate and solutions business expectation into technology implementations

  • Spend management and analytics

  • Data analytics to drive data-driven decision-making

  • Agile methodologies and ability to apply agile principles to project delivery

  • Category management methodology and strategic sourcing (direct & indirect)

  • Sustainable and/or agile procurement

  • Process optimization

  • Value stream mapping and business process workshop delivery

  • Operating model development and implementation

  • Value chain risk management

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work with and present to various levels of seniority in an organization

  • P roven ability to build client relationships, identify and address client needs, utilize professional networks and community involvement

  • Analytical mindset, and experience in using data processing and dashboarding tools ( e.g. Excel, Alteryx, PowerBI , Tableau, etc.)

  • Strategic and creative thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • A high level of professional integrity, a commitment to teamwork, a strong desire to learn, and enthusiasm to motivate others

  • High degree of initiative and proactive attitude to take ownership of tasks and assignments, and accept responsibility for outcomes

  • Experience in preparing and/or coordinating complex or comprehensive written and verbal materials

  • An interest in continuous upskilling, learning new tools and adapting how you work for a digital world
