The Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with required medical care and professional nursing practice. This role supervises activities and provides guidance to Registered Practical Nurses and Personal Support Workers.

What Is In It For You:

1. Coordinate nursing and other services for residents within the neighborhood and with other services within the residence.
2. Lead shift reports with members of the healthcare team, ensuring all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.
3. Record significant changes in residents’ condition; ensure documentation in residents’ charts adheres to AgeCare policies, procedures, and provincial standards.
4. Review and process physician orders promptly, communicating any difficulties to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.

What You Will Need:

• Strong knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and Regulations, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Controlled Substances Act (Canada), Health Promotion and Protection Act, Personal Health Protection Act, Coroners Act, and standards of the Provincial College of Nurses.
• Registration and good standing with the provincial nursing registry.
