Job description
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Trucking/Logistics

Yorktown Search Partners is conducting a confidential executive search for a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a well-established and reputable company in the trucking and logistics industry. The successful candidate will be based in either Toronto or Calgary and will receive an industry-standard salary along with equity in the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's strategic plan to advance its mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
  2. Operational Management: Oversee the company's operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  3. Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the company's budget; ensure the company meets its financial goals and objectives.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective relationships with stakeholders, including investors, employees, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  5. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth.
  6. Corporate Governance: Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and adheres to the highest standards of corporate governance.
  7. Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing executive team and workforce.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience, preferably within the trucking or logistics industry.
  3. Leadership: Proven track record of successfully managing a company or significant business unit.
  4. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  8. Location: Must be willing to be based in Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB.

Compensation:

  1. Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience and industry standards.
  2. Equity: Participation in the company's equity program.
