A leading Canadian university is seeking a Protection Supervisor to oversee overnight operations and direct a team of Night Stewards. Responsibilities include managing security services, emergency preparedness, and maintaining safety within the campus. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in security program supervision and demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills in both French and English.
Job Overview:
The Protection Supervisor is responsible for the overnight operations by directing a team of Night Stewards within the Unit. Provides the best possible direction of comprehensive programs related to security services, emergency preparedness, fire prevention and environmental health and safety in an environment that fosters a sense of community, enhances student learning/safety and supports the overall mission of the SHHS unit within the University.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Required: Security Permit (BSP) and First Aid. BA degree in related field an asset. Five years experience in comprehensive programs related to security services. Experience in the support, training and supervision of staff. Experience in a security environment, particularly working in a university student residence operation. Demonstrated ability to supervise unionized staff as well as able to interpret collective agreements. Proven organizational and leadership skills along with excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skill in French and English.
Work Schedule:
This is an evening position (Sunday to Thursday 15h00 to 23h00, may be subject to change).
