Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.

The Manager, Planning & Continuous Improvement plays a pivotal role within Nutrien’s Procurement function, leading the development and execution of a Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy. This role is responsible for designing and implementing a fit‑for‑purpose framework for intake, prioritization, and stewardship of CI initiatives, while facilitating commercial work planning across various procurement groups. As a trusted partner and strategic advisor, you will support leadership in decision‑making, visioning, and roadmap development for Procurement.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in procurement processes, tools, and data, with a demonstrated ability to influence at all levels—including senior leadership—within both Procurement and business.

What you will do:

  • Lead cross‑functional resources in identification of improvement opportunities related to procurement processes and technology, developing robust business cases and deploying an effective prioritization approach.
  • Collaborate with a team of senior procurement professionals to develop commercial work plans, connect the plans to the Value reporting framework and steward progress.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to upskill team members in CI methodologies and change management practices.
  • Manage end‑to‑end work planning, integrating demand forecasting, capacity planning, CI ambitions, and organizational priorities to deliver business value.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to leadership in the development of the long‑term Procurement strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (e.g., IT, PMO, Finance, Legal) to drive alignment and ensure cohesive execution.
  • Lead change management efforts for key procurement initiatives, supporting a unified ‘One Nutrien’ culture across sites and business units.
  • Stand up a change management team and develop a robust change management program, improving effectiveness of procurement initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and strategic discussions to align teams around long‑term goals and objectives.
  • Apply strategic thinking and procurement expertise to guide investments in tools and processes, minimizing regret costs and maximizing value.
  • Model our core value of safety by leading and enabling a culture in which you are actively contributing to a safe work environment.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain and/or project management, with proven expertise in developing Continuous Improvement framework and long‑term strategic roadmaps. Proven experience in leading change management initiatives in a large‑cap organization.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams in formal or informal capacity.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following ERP systems: SAP ECC, SAP S4, Oracle, PeopleSoft.
  • Deep expertise in Procurement processes across the source‑to‑pay cycle and the enabling technology; experience and knowledge of category management, sourcing, contracting and/or transactional procurement.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Change Management and/or MBA is considered an asset.
  • Expert level knowledge and proven experience in leading transformative and continuous improvement projects/ portfolios, spanning across multiple functions and domains.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to tailor messaging at various levels and influence.
