About Us

McMillan-McGee Corp (Mc²) is a Calgary-based environmental technology firm engaged in the business of thermal soil and groundwater remediation across North America and worldwide. Mc² is the inventor of ET-DSP and IT-DSP, which are both globally recognized, patented thermal technologies for soil and groundwater remediation. Mc²’s environmental remediation projects involve heating the subsurface to volatilize contaminants so that they can be removed and properly disposed of.

About the Role

We are seeking a self-motivated, forward-thinking, energetic Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role reports to the Controller and is critical in accounts payable, payments and automation of these processes. You will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Assistant to ensure the controls over payables and payments are performed and efficiencies in the process are implemented. This position has room for career growth in accounting alongside the growth of the Company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record vendor invoices & manage accounts payable inbox
  • Work with the estimating and accounting teams to integrate bid costing data with job costing in the accounting/ERP system for seamless tracking and reporting.
  • Process payments
  • Compile and analyze monthly job profitability reports, including net income and key performance metrics across active projects.
  • Reconciliation of credit cards with receipts
  • Collaborate with project engineers to monitor and compare actual project costs against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Credit applications
  • Complete new vendor credit applications.
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Leverage data tools to develop dashboards and reports that drive decision-making across project and executive teams.
  • System & Process Improvement
  • Support ongoing automation in financial processes, particularly in accounts payable, payments processes.
  • Support Accounting, Admin, and all departments
  • Provide day-to-day functions to support all departments and groups as needed.
Qualifications
Education or Experience

University degree, preferably in business with a focus in accounting and/or

Minimum two years related accounting experience, with a preference for experience in the construction, environmental services, or heavy industry sectors.

Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Teams
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Odoo, Acumatica, or similar ERP/accounting systems
  • High level of general technology fluency and adaptability with new software tools

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process efficiency

Compensation
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
