Accountabilities:

1. Supporting the execution of work for third parties by participating in meetings related to potential new assets or connections.
2. Liaising with and advising Asset Management, Asset Optimization, and other business lines to achieve work programs, provide services, gather information, and review commitments related to environmental issues.
3. Representing Environmental Services at the Secondary Land Use (SLU) External Third Party monthly meetings to provide input and advice.
4. Leading Environmental Services participation in the SLU Property Management Process (PMP).
5. Providing environmental input during the Project Initiation Phase by reviewing project scope, location, and existing conditions.
6. Identifying additional work required for regulatory compliance and company policies.
7. Preparing project estimates, attending customer meetings, and advising on environmental risks and strategies.
8. Offering strategic advice to Corporate Affairs - Indigenous Relations and Stakeholder Relations teams.
9. Collaborating on process, procedure, and agreement development related to Environmental Services.
10. Participating in corporate projects outside of the Capital Project Delivery model.
11. Engaging with Indigenous communities, government agencies, potential customers, and others for information gathering, approvals, and commitments.
12. Directing environmental studies such as heritage assessments, land use, environmental site assessments, and water studies, understanding their typical costs.
13. Maintaining knowledge of environmental permits, licenses, and approvals.
14. Participating in negotiations, resolving conflicts, and making commitments on behalf of the company, including representing the company at hearings.
15. Providing supervision and technical guidance to team members assisting in work programs.
16. Performing other duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

1. Successful experience leading environmental requirements for capital projects.
2. Experience working with internal lines of business, Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and the public on transmission facility planning and construction.
3. Deep understanding of municipal and provincial policies, legislation, and regulations.
4. Knowledge of processes related to the Class EA for Minor Transmission Facilities.
5. Four years of university training in environmental studies, biology, forestry, planning, or a related field (or equivalent).
6. Experience supporting environmental services in transmission line and station planning, construction, and maintenance.
7. Familiarity with environmental legislation and approval processes, such as the Environmental Assessment Act, Electricity Act, and Provincial Policy Statement.
8. Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and procedures.
9. High initiative, excellent communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
10. Over six years of direct experience in the environmental field.
11. Strong team leadership and project management skills.
12. Excellent organizational skills.
13. Proficient in English communication, report writing, and presentations.
14. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
15. Strategic thinking in environmental assessments during early project phases.
16. Understanding of business implications and organizational performance improvement.
17. Flexibility and adaptability to work changes.
