At Sandvik, Ground Support division, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for providing technical support andexpertisein Mechanical or Electrical maintenance. The Lead will maintain and improve components,equipmentor systems to improve or keep high reliability, overall equipmentvaluesand cost efficiency.

What you will be doing
  • Performsmechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical,pneumaticand hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment,machinesand facilities
  • Performsemergency / unscheduled repairs of production and packaging equipment
  • Performsscheduled maintenance inspectionsand repairsof production and packaging equipment
  • Ensure Maintenance software is kept up to date with PM/Reactive maintenance recorded accurately.
  • Readsand interprets equipment manuals, engineering drawings, work orders, and other information sources, to perform required maintenance and servicing
  • Responsible for knowing and following all Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, Sandvik Mining and Site Safetyand Healthrules includingmaintaininga safe-work environment by enforcing a strict standard of housekeeping in the immediate and surrounding work areas utilizing 5S principles.
  • Provide input and recommendations for equipmentpurchasesand replacement.
  • Recognize unsafe acts andcorrectthe situation, making suggestions on creating a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Troubleshootspresses,furnaces,threaders.conveyors,sawsand automated production lines
  • Useslathes, mills,weldersand grindersto aid in repairs and maintenance
  • Worksclosely withProductionSupervisoron various projects and preventative maintenance
  • Conformswith and abidesby all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
  • Completes otherduties asassigned to meet business needs.
  • Planning for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all work
  • Complete maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g., report and document on maintenance and/or repairs completed.
  • Assign simple tasks to junior staff and guide them in their completion.
Environmental Health and Safety
  • Complies with Sandvik Mining safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
  • Responsibility to identify and report any unsafe work habits, workplace incidents and/or near misses. Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task.
  • Maintains hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintains orderly work area and ensures housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.
  • Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.
What you will bring along
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
