Hours
- 40 to 44 hours / week with overtime if required by business
- Mondays to Fridays during business hours

The primary objective of this role is to sell company products and / or services, with a focus on bulk lubricants, by reaching opportunity-based sales quotas. Business targets should be achieved through effective management of designated territories by making regular calls and visits to the customer sites. The individual should develop ongoing and profitable relationships with customers and continuously maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, and in-person presentation and negotiation skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
Be an in-house specialist for specific product lines, with a focus on bulk lubricantsFocus on all targeted accounts and generate sales from within the client baseEmphasize product and service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms and prepare sales order forms and reportsEnsure follow-ups are made by maintaining a call to action and accurate records (dates, profile information, sources)Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue (e.g. make cold calls)Overcome objections of prospective customers in a tactful and respectful mannerResolve any problems and complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions and making recommendations (e.g. warranty problems, defects)Maintain professionalism, diplomacy and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive mannerActively manage schedule to cover assigned territories in a time-efficient mannerUse marketing data to maximize sales efficiency and effectivenessMaintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices and other documentationConduct ongoing research to build and maintain knowledge of new products, new services and competitor activitiesBuild and foster a strong network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growthHave a strong understanding of the inventory and assist customers with managing their inventoryCollaborate with all other departments as necessary to ensure that the lines are properly representedMaintain a positive relationship with customers, coworkers and other line representatives using strong communication skills, teamwork and leadershipUnderstand and promote company programsSupport APC stores if necessary (e.g. help pick, receive, ship, stock, organize and deliver parts)Travelling to different locations throughout Ontario and occasional overnight trips may be required.All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor and ManagementKey Requirements and Experience
Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle requiredCompetency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), data entry and web navigationMinimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive parts industry or a related field to have an understanding of the automotive industry’s trendsVehicle mechanical knowledgeSignificant knowledge of represented productsStrong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniquesStrong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)Customer focus – Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customersProfessional demeanour, selling style and appearanceExcellent ability to work independently and as a teamAccountability and dependabilityFlexible and adaptable mindsetSelf-discipline and consistency (e.g. make follow-up calls to customers, time management skills and prioritization skills with a deadline-oriented mindset)Ability to understand, respond to and work with a diverse populationNegotiation skills and ability to close salesExcellent attention to detailExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve conflictsWhy work with us?
