This isn't just a job; it's a chance to be at the forefront of technological transformation, redefining the future of technology.

We collaborate with industry leaders and empower a distributed network of Canada’s most talented security professionals. Our high‑performance team thrives on inspiring excellence and driving transformational thinking to create the next generation of cyber defense capabilities.

As Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering within the CSO Security Platforms organization, you will be the architect of TELUS’s cybersecurity future, defining strategic direction and executing forward‑thinking strategies that anticipate tomorrow’s security landscape. Your leadership will inspire excellence across our national team while pioneering the integration of cutting‑edge Cloud and AI technologies into our defense infrastructure.

Most significantly, as a trusted advisor, your strategic insights will directly influence executive decision‑making. You’ll become a strategic storyteller whose expertise guides TELUS’s security investments and priorities, ensuring your voice carries substantial weight in shaping our digital transformation at the highest organizational levels.

  • Oversee Projects & Finances: Provide project coordination and management, prioritize resources for competing projects, and manage the team's capital and operating expenses budget.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Partner with vendors on maintenance and support requirements, develop vendor scorecards, and provide regular feedback on their performance.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in domains such as IAM, network security, cloud security, and Zero Trust architecture
  • Hands‑on expertise with cybersecurity technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SSE, PAM, Anti‑DDoS, Email security, Web security, and endpoint protection
  • Proven experience in DevSecOps, including securing CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of application security tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) and container security
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI/ML in cybersecurity platforms (e.g., UEBA) and an understanding of securing AI/ML workloads
  • A passion for leading a diverse technical team to solve complex cybersecurity challenges
  • Acknowledged strength in project or program management, financial management, and business case development
  • A known ability to communicate complex technical topics and data insights to diverse audiences, including executives
  • Skill in developing execution plans that align with strategy and a defined roadmap
  • A result‑driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and ownership of complex issues through to resolution

Great‑to‑Haves

  • Cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • An understanding of information technology (IT) and data center environments
  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS certifications

Salary Range: $110,000-$166,000
