The role reports to the Financial Controller and requires strong analytical skills, internal control acumen, and experience with SAP/Sage.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate subledger closure.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and analysis for the Financial Controller.
- Support external audit and prepare audit documents.
- Manage fixed assets, capital lease schedules, and related entries.
- Perform intercompany, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Provide AR support, researching variances and assisting collections.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow reporting, and forecasting activities.
- Oversee accurate and timely AP processing, reviewing vendor statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Support SAP implementation projects, including data validation, testing, and workflow integration.
- File statutory filings, file sales taxes, and assist with ad‑hoc analysis and projects.
- Proven accounting experience in a senior or intermediate role.
- Experience mentoring or overseeing junior team members.
- Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting, including month‑end and year‑end.
- Competency in MS Office (Excel and Word).
- Experience with SAP/Sage is a strong asset.
- Location: Saanichton, BC (on site)
