Job summary

Enviros seeks a strong leader to oversee the ExCel Discovery program at a male/female youth facility in Calgary. The role ensures day-to-day operations follow program protocols and Enviros policy, with direct involvement in staff, youth, and community partners.

The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in human services, proven supervisory experience with staff, and a trauma-informed approach to youth care.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a Human Services related field.
• Experience supervising staff.
• Experience working with youth affected by trauma.
• Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of staff up to 12 individuals
• Consultation and reporting to the Custody Operations Branch
• Collaborating with the Calgary and Edmonton Young Offenders Center
• Ensure all Accreditation standards are upkept and met
• Completion and overseeing of documentation and case management
• Complete scheduling to ensure program is properly staffed
• Active member of the leadership team
• Oversee and approve staff timesheets, and time-off
• Supports group care on-call on a rotational basis
• Attend all leadership meetings
• Along with the program manager, ensure that the budget is reviewed and adhered to
• Provide regular supervision of staff members
• Provide support when needed to clients
• Recruitment, staff performance evaluations and staff training as required by CAC guidelines and ensure all staff training are current
• Oversee household health and safety standards and overall housekeeping duties
