Job summary

Ottawa Police Service is seeking a Youth In Policing Initiative Coordinator for the Winter Term. This role supports the Youth Section by supervising YIPI students, planning activities, and coordinating with OPS supervisors and community partners to ensure smooth program delivery.

The position requires at least one semester of post-secondary education and experience with youth projects. Work terms include 12–35 hours per week, with some evenings, and pay at $23.35 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least one semester of a post-secondary education program.
• Previous office experience is an asset.
• Experience supervising or coordinating youth programs is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the hiring process of YIPI students.
• Assist with planning and scheduling activities for the program.
• Supervise students to ensure tasks are completed.
• Oversee all program activities and provide guidance to YIPI students.
• Monitor performance issues and advise the program coordinator.
• Support Crime Prevention initiatives as assigned to YIPI students.
• Coordinate with OPS section supervisors and community contacts to ensure tasks are completed.
