Job summary

Eagle Heart Centre is seeking a Youth Care Worker to support vulnerable youth in a care home setting. You will lead individual and group activities, provide life skills training, and intervene in crises with a harm-reduction approach.

Reporting to the Team Lead and aligned with the Executive Director's vision, you will deliver trauma-informed, culturally safe, youth-centered services and collaborate within a residential team to meet program needs.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of child development, mental health, addictions, domestic violence, and systemic challenges facing youth.
  • Strong problem-solving, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
  • Time management, organizational skills, and accountability for caseload and deadlines.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a residential team environment.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and adaptability в meeting program needs.
  • Physical capacity to perform job requirements (sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, driving, carrying/lifting to 50 lbs).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Provide a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector clearance.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.

Job description
