Job summary

Autism Services in North Battleford is seeking compassionate individuals for youth care in a residential setting. The role involves providing care, support and therapeutic intervention, plus developing activities that promote growth and community involvement.

You will collaborate with a professional team to create individualized plans, acting as a positive mentor and role model, while remaining flexible to evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Experience with youth is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or related field is an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication with youth and families.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and therapeutic intervention to youth in residential setting.

What You'll Do

• Provide day-to-day care, support and therapeutic intervention to youth in a residential setting.

• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and respected.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to create individualized care plans.
• Be a role model and mentor, guiding youth through life's challenges and celebrating their successes.
• Other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary Education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is considered an asset.
• Previous experience working with youth in a care or support role.
• Understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with youth, families, and team members.
• Ability to build trusting relationships, show empathy, and provide emotional support.
• Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and find constructive solutions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Valid First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
• Recent Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening.
• Valid Class 5, Novice 2, or Higher Drivers License
