Job summary

Autism Services in Saskatoon is seeking dedicated staff for residential youth support. The role includes day-to-day care, personal hygiene help, and therapeutic interventions within a residential setting.

You will develop engaging activities to foster personal growth, cultural awareness, and community involvement, while maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere and collaborating on individualized care plans.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care or related field; asset.
  • Experience with neurodivergent youth in care or support roles.
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultures and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with youth, families, and team.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with empathy.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and find constructive solutions.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
  • Recent criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
  • Valid Class 5/Novice 2 or higher driver\'s license.
  • Note: relocation costs are applicant\'s responsibility.

  • Previous experience working with neurodivergent youth in a care or support role.
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with youth, families, and team members.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships, show empathy, and provide emotional support.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and find constructive solutions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
  • Recent Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening.
  • Valid Class 5, Novice 2, or Higher Drivers License
