The Edmonton Police Service requires an individual with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail to assume responsibilities within the Warrant Management Unit (WMU). Reporting directly to the WMU Sergeant, the responsibilities include:

  • Review, prioritize, and assign work to employees; analyze work volumes to ensure resources meet unit goals and objectives.
  • Review documents and work products for consistency with standards.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees.
  • Evaluate performance, prepare annual reviews, and develop personal and professional development plans for WMU Clerks.
  • Facilitate recruiting and selection processes for new employees.
  • Maintain staffing levels through leave approvals and attendance reviews; ensure HR software accuracy for scheduling and pay.
  • Create a strong team environment and resolve concerns from stakeholders.
  • Promote a healthy, respectful, and inclusive workplace; participate in wellness initiatives and manage conflicts.
  • Identify best practices, create new work procedures and policies.
  • Develop and update procedural manuals.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to ensure timely receipt of documentation.
  • Respond to internal and external partner requests.
  • Perform other related duties.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the 12th grade, including business subjects related to word processing, or an appropriate certificate from an approved business school/college, with training in basic computer applications.
  • At least three (3) years of diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Recent three (3) years supervising a medium to large staff group.
  • Experience with CARM, NICHE, CPIC, JOIN, ORCA, and FOIPP is an asset.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills in a high-paced environment.
  • Experience managing large volumes of sensitive records in a records management system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Applicants may be tested.
  • Pre-hire screening includes an Enhanced Security Clearance, with ongoing clearances as required.

Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts on a weekly rotation, 0745hrs to 1615hrs, Monday to Friday.

Salary Range: Grade 013, $27.06 - $33.94/hour, bi-weekly $2,165.50 - $2,715.40, annually $56,520.07 - $70,872.98. Rates are in accordance with the collective agreement.
